ROGERS WILLIAMS
CEO and Co- Founder of LEAP
Rogers Williams has over 20 years of experience in teaching and adult leadership with a track record of improving student achievement through effective training and developing teachers, leaders, social workers, and other education specialists.
Rogers is one of the founders and leaders of Leap. Prior to starting Leap, Rogers served as Co-Senior Director of the elementary school math team at Navigator, which was a subteam on Achievement First’s Accelerate team. There, he co-led a team of school leaders, established high team morale through clarity around vision and priorities, and engaged the team in conversations around equity, race, identity, and privilege as they worked to build capacity for more equitable teaching practices in schools as they coached and supported a diverse group of school leaders across the country. While at Navigator, 81% of school leaders who the elementary school math team coached and supported achieved their leadership goals.
Before joining the Navigator team, Rogers served in several school leadership roles. He was the Assistant Principal at East Harlem Scholars Academy in East Harlem, NY where some of his core responsibilities were leading the instructional vision, teacher professional development, providing curriculum coaching and support, and overseeing the school’s assessment and data analysis strategy.
Prior to that, Rogers was both the Academic Dean and Dean of School Culture at Achievement First Bushwick Elementary School in Brooklyn, NY. Rogers led the math and science teams as the Academic Dean. During his tenure as the Academic Dean, student math achievement was among the highest in the Achievement First network and math state test scores were among the highest in the state of New York. As the Dean of School Culture, Rogers designed systems and structures that helped to create an urgent, caring, joyful, supportive, and achievement-focused school culture.
Rogers started his career as a Teach for America corps member in 2001 in Newark, NJ. Rogers lives in Brooklyn, NY with his partner and enjoys running half marathons or marathons and going on exciting new adventures in New York City and elsewhere with his partner and friends.
